An evidence based and clinically guided approach to behaviour change.

You’ll work 1:1 with Raeleen Thomson, our Mental Health Nurse to change your psychology and build new healthy habits.

Raeleen uses a blend of interpersonal therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy informed strategies to address her patients needs.

You’ll benefit from weekly therapeutic consultations, educational resources, behaviour change techniques and messenger access to Raeleen between consultations

The approach used is adapted to the individual's therapeutic needs and will be outlined at the initial consultation.

  • Pillar 1:
Curious understanding

Before you begin it’s important to gain an understanding of your current habits and behaviours. This doesn’t have to mean talking about the past in great detail or length if you are not comfortable.

By using evidence based questionnaires and an initial consultation Raeleen will gain clarity as to how your current behaviours have evolved which will arm her with strategies for rewriting them.

  • Pillar 2:
Create a roadmap for success

Getting clarity on your hopes and desires is essential for change. We first need to define the key objectives and goals.

Whether it’s a goal to manage stress and create a life with more presence, calm and control or to eliminate comfort eating, create food freedom and eat intuitively you’ll be guided in clarifying what that looks like.

Next you’ll work closely with Raeleen to build a realistic roadmap to making sustainable behaviour change that feels easeful and enjoyable.

  • Pillar 3:
Compassionate examination

Raeleen will help you to compassionately examine your current patterns and behaviours which are sabotaging your efforts and hindering your goals.

Using evidence-based techniques such as interpersonal therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) informed strategies Raeleen will offer new ways of thinking to reprogram your psychology.

Throughout the process it’s important that changes are small and sustainable so that the process feels achievable and not overwhelming.

  • Pillar 4:
Bespoke & flexible

Raeleen works with each individual on a very personal level. Therapeutic consultations will be tailored to your personal challenges and medical background.

Whether it’s stress related to burnout at work, binge eating, anxiety or depression Raeleen will support you with tools and strategies tailored to your situation and personality.

You might be wearing many hats right now…

  • A demanding job where you’re juggling deadlines, business related travel, working through lunch, and finishing later than you’d like to.

  • Trying to keep the house in order, cook a healthy dinner for your partner or family and be present after work.

  • Maybe you have kids and you’re juggling helping with homework to after school activities and juggling everything else in between.

I’m also wondering if you’ve ever really put yourself first?

The women we support struggle to make themselves and their health a priority.

As women we prioritise home improvements, holidays and cars but rarely do we invest time, energy and finances into our own health and wellbeing.

Dr. Aileen writing on her notebook

Women these days are realising that to wear all of the hats, and to wear them successfully, you can’t be pouring from an empty cup.

They bend over backwards to help a friend or turn ourselves into a pretzel to meet a deadline for work before caring for ourselves.

Women give their best to work, family and friends often at a huge energy and emotional expense which means leaving their own needs and self care at the bottom of the list then. Then they beat ourselves up for not trying hard enough and failing.

As women, we are hard-wired to put everyone else's needs first, above our own.

Meeting our own needs often makes women feel guilty and selfish but this has to change.

But what if taking care of your health & wellbeing actually benefited everyone else?

There are always going to be other people that need your help and support.

Other things that need our attention

The Obstacle is the Way

Mindset for wellbeing & weight loss has been designed to help you to…

  • Get clear on your snacking, comfort eating or bingeing triggers so you can treat and heal the root cause instead of relying on willpower to resist temptation.

  • Learn how to identify and manage stress at work and home and build robust science backed tools and strategies to help you feel in control and create a sense of inner calm.

  • Understand what’s driving your negative self-talk and reprogram your internal narrative so you can stop beating yourself up and create a positive internal dialogue

  • Identify exactly what’s feeding your self-sabotage cycle, so you can address the root cause and stamp it out for good.

  • Finally, see your needs as an equal, so you no longer feel guilty or resentful about always putting yourself on the backburner

  • Learn how to regulate your energy so you wake feeling refreshed and have energy that’s sustained all day long, even if you have a demanding job & busy schedule.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could…

  • Understand cravings and eliminate snacking and bingeing so you can stick to your diet regime and lose weight with ease.

  • Prioritise your self care so you can easefully indulge in some “you time” without guilty and keep your energy levels consistent

Meet Raeleen Thomson

Hi, I’m Raeleen Thomson, a mental health nurse with a masters in psychological therapies.

I’ve been working with Aileen at Nourish for the last 5 years helping women to eliminate overeating, manage stress, reduce anxiety so they can lose weight sustainably, welcome balance, reclaim their self-confidence and feel in control no matter what obstacles life throws at them.

I’m a wife and mother of 2. I love getting out in nature and going for a walk with friends and family (if I can persuade my teenagers to join me!) On the weekends I’m often a hockey mum cheering on my kids from the sidelines.

Dr. Aileen holding a bowl of fruits on her hands

I work 3 days in the NHS in the child and adolescent mental health department and the other 2 at Nourish.

I met Aileen through my husband who met Aileen at the gym! He heard about the amazing work that Aileen was doing and just knew I would want to hear about it.

I’m passionate about all things health and balance. This stems from growing up in a family where nourishing meals and enjoyment from exercise were encouraged. I want to help other ladies find the balance in life and prioritise their health without rigid restrictive approaches.

I enjoy working with ladies 1 to 1 and in small groups to help them repair their relationship with food, manage stress, reduce anxiety and improve their mood. Seeing the personal growth and health outcomes in ladies is extremely rewarding.

I want to leave you with one of my favourite quotes. I hope it inspires you.

Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley” — Theodore Roethke
